A UPS, or a uninterruptible power supply, is a device used to backup a power supply to prevent devices and systems from power supply problems, such as a power failure or lightning strikes.
The internal control supply of the UPS shall be available provided any of the power sources to the UPS are present. The inverter unit shall control the output of the UPS to maintain synchronism with the bypass voltage during variations in input frequency, within the specified tolerance limits.
UPS Cubicle must be dust and vermin-proof and designed for ambient of 50º C and relative humidity band as per site condition. The UPS system shall consist of The solid-state rectifier/charger shall convert incoming AC power to DC power. The rectifier/charger output shall be fed to a solid-state inverter.
Equalizing Voltage: 2.38 V maximum per cell (adjustable). UPS module will automatically adjust battery shutdown based upon loading and battery capacity. The UPS module shall automatically adjust the final discharge voltage between 1.67 and 1.75 Volts per cell based on the existing load and the rate and length of discharge.
7.5 The availability of the UPS system shall be defined as the probability the UPS system is providing the normal operation and functions with the required performance. The availability shall be determined mathematically as follows: or where MTTR is the Mean-Time-To-Restore figure of the UPS system.
The absolute minimum operational voltage is 1.67 V per cell (adjustable). The UPS module will automatically disconnect the battery system in case of full battery discharge followed by prolonged utility AC voltage failure. The time window before battery disconnection occurs shall be programmable for both time and voltage.
