It refers to the transportation of fully charged batteries (full batteries) from renewable energy power stations to cities through existing transportation systems such as railways, highways and ships, and the return of batteries (empty batteries) used in cities to renewable energy power stations for charging.
The battery acts as a bridge and intermediary, improving the photoelectric absorption and stability of PV-electrolysis hybrid systems . Due to the application of batteries, the power generated can be stored during periods when sunlight is sufficient.
The proposed model considers technical constraints such as railway transportation capacity, load demand satisfaction and renewable energy consumption in the power system. The optimal logistics plan and real-time charging and discharging plan can be obtained for both full and empty battery transportation.
The full/empty batteries are transported through the train transportation system between the load side and the renewable energy station, which improves renewable energy penetration, economics, and mobilities.
The installed electrolysis capacity can be reduced by configuring a certain amount of battery storage to be discharged for electrolysis during peak load periods. This reduces the overall capital expenditure of the entire system. Therefore, the battery capacity configuration in PV-electrolysis hybrid systems is of particular importance.
The battery provides a stable power supply for the PV-electrolysis system. Hence, this study proposes a robust model for configuring the capacity of a PV-battery-electrolysis hybrid system by considering the dynamic efficiency characteristics and cost learning curve effect of key equipments.
