The charger has 3 output wires as shown in the picture. 1. Should I run both the charger (-) wires into the negative wire going to the battery? (I just read the printing on the charger, that the brown output wire is (+) and the blue one is (-). I'm now guessing the answer is just to ignore the other wire.) 2.
Connect the positive wire from the adapter to the connector in the battery compartment where the nub of the battery or + normally goes. Again, only connect to the side of the battery compartment where the connections are not tied together. Step two says that you should check the specification sheet or sticker of the device for the mAh rating.
From left to right you have the red wire from the engine harness, it goes to pin 30 on the relay. Orange wire from harness goes to pin 86 on the relay, black wires go to pin 85, and the 2nd red wire goes to the battery isolator. So at this point we should have two wires coming off the relay. A red and a black.
Also how would a 3-wire battery (with temperature wire) compare to a 2-wire battery (no temperature wire) compare in terms of endurance? It seems that battery itself has a thermistor, which is used to monitor temperature during charging and provide feedback for the charging device for safety reasons.
Tablets and / or batteries only use two wires are indeed less safe (I wouldn't necessarily call it unsafe) than a three-wire system, if they don't compensate the missing thermal sensor in the battery (for example by an on-board thermal sensor, mounted near the battery).
A possible answer to the timeless 2 wire 3 wire question for tablet/GPS etc. Although not yet done by me as I had already done the direct connection of white to black but have kept old battery for later. My suggestion is transfer/change the old BMS to the new battery. If you try this please provide feedback for other users.

LEDs 101: How to Wire & Power LED Circuits to Light Up Your …
Let''s say you want to wire two red LEDs together in parallel, each with a forward voltage of 2V and forward current of 20mA. In this case you''d need a power supply that delivers at least 2V and 40mA. Again, the two AA battery option is probably best because it will provide 3V and this is more than enough to power both of them.
